They will ask you to stand for them.
They will celebrate you—until their fear shows up.
Then, they will blame you for their fear.

You will point to their possibility.
They will create reasons to make you hide it.
You will take the high road.
They will kick you in the shins.
You will come from love.
They will hit you with hate.
You will stay open, then close, then do the work to open again.
They will mock you for it.
They will blame you for their failings.
They will cast you as the villain.
They will demand you take responsibility—
but never take any themselves.
You will set aside the need to be right.
You will let go of needing vindication.
You will stay committed to something higher.
And they will hurt you for it.
Your heart will break.
Again and again and again.
This is the cost of standing for transformation.
Leadership is not for the faint of heart.
Coaching is not an easy way to make a quick buck.
It is a way of life.
A way of life that will shatter you.
So you can be remade into whatever’s next.
It won’t be easy.
Simple, yes. But not easy.
It will hurt.
It will feel like betrayal.
And yet, your work is to choose back in.
To feel your humanity.
To heal.
To deepen.
To stand again.
You will have every reason to quit.
But the work is not to give up.
